Stonetown Historical Walking Tour & Traditional Lunch

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site that Stone Town is thanks to its fascinating blend of Arab, Persian, Indian and European influences.

Itinerary

The trip will begin at the Anglican Church, a prominent structure in the former slave market, before proceeding through the crowded streets. We’ll be making a pit stop at the downtown market next. Here you can find the largest market in all of the islands. Here, people may find a wide variety of goods for sale and purchase, including some of the freshest produce available and fish auctions where they can place bids on seafood.

After that, you’ll see some of Stown Town’s most famous landmarks, including the Palace Museum, and House of Wonder (also known as the Bait-al-ajab), which is the city’s largest and tallest structure. Tour the historic Tippu Tip fort and, of course, Freddie Mercury’s home. Trip highlights include the Peace Memorial and the Natural History Museum.

At the conclusion of your trip, you will dine at a quaint neighborhood eatery. Your tour will end with local lunch in a cozy restaurant.
